Tanysha Dissanayake, Ambassador for Long Covid Support

Hi, I am Tanysha Dissanayake and I am 21 years old. I was a professional tennis player prior to my Covid infection but now I have been forced to stop playing. I started playing tennis when I was 5 years old, it was my whole world and I loved it.

I went away with my family during the summer. It took me 2 weeks pre-holiday to prepare and took me 3 weeks post-holiday to recover to my baseline Long Covid symptoms, despite using special assistance at the airport and having a wheelchair for the trip. I am housebound for the majority of the time, and have been for the past year.

My goal is to spread awareness and get more people speaking about Long Covid.
