Maisie Hulbert
Interim chief executive
Maisie is a charity leader with a long background in policy, campaigns, charity foundation and leadership. Maisie founded the prison singing charity Sing Inside and led the organisation as chief executive for a decade. She is also an experienced policy professional, having worked in policy across sector infrastructure for ACEVO and NCVO, and on VAWG at Agenda Alliance and Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse.
Maisie now works freelance across a diverse range of projects, specialising in charity growth, governance and transition; strategic goal-setting; influencing and campaigns; and embedding experts by experience across all systems and processes. She oversees our operations and strategic planning, working with our trustees to drive lasting policy change and meet community need.
Jo Dainow
Support Lead
As well as her trustee responsibilities, Jo leads our Support work. Jo has lived experience of Long Covid and is a founding member of Long Covid Support. She is a moderator for the Long Covid Support Facebook groups and co-facilitates the charity’s peer support programme, overseeing wellbeing activities for people with Long Covid and their carers. She has a strong passion for wellbeing and brings experience in coaching and mentoring, alongside her work as a community health champion for a local not-for-profit organisation.
Nikki Smith
Research Lead
Nikki is a founding member of Long Covid Support and has had Long Covid since early 2020. Her background is in forensic science, having spent several years working with the Metropolitan Police Service, private forensic companies and running her own business. Nikki is Co-Lead of the charity’s Research Team and co-founder of our Research Involvement Consultancy. Collaborating with researchers internationally, Nikki helps ensure that Long Covid research is accessible, informed, and keeps diverse voices of people with lived experience woven throughout. She has co-authored several research papers on Long Covid, contributed to practice pointers for healthcare practitioners, presented at on-line events, and has worked with a range of organisations including the NIHR and the WHO. She further contributes to the charity’s influencing work, including advocating for specialist healthcare services, and supporting the work of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Long Covid as part of the secretariat team. Nikki also enjoys creating impactful images and video presentations to communicate Long Covid facts and figures, and illustrate what life is like living with this complex illness.
Andrea Galley
Volunteering and Administration Lead
Andrea is our administrative assistant and volunteer coordinator. She has lived experience of Long Covid and first came across the charity in 2022, when she was looking for help and support to understand her symptoms.
She previously worked in third sector frontline homeless services. During her career, she has been a housing rights advocate, a support worker for people emerging from modern slavery, and a volunteer manager.
Andrea lives in the Midlands, sharing her home with several dozen houseplants.
Emily Miller
Community Fundraising Lead
Emily has lived experience of Long Covid and has been involved in advocacy for those with the condition since 2020, including giving testimony to the APPG on Covid and co-producing resources for young people with Long Covid. Emily has been volunteering with the charity since early 2025, utilising her experience in marketing, social media, and public relations to support the fundraising team.
Fleur Roberts
In-person peer support lead
Fleur Roberts is the In-person Peer Support (IPPS) Project Lead for the charity, developing welcoming groups where people affected by Long Covid can connect, share experiences and access practical information and support.
Fleur previously worked for the NHS Long Covid team in Cheshire West for four years, supporting people living with the condition until the service was decommissioned. Through this work, she developed strong connections with the charity, which led naturally to her current role as the IPPS Project Lead.
Fleur is also a self-employed welfare benefits adviser, supporting people with disability benefit applications, mandatory reconsiderations and appeals. She is a committed advocate for people living with Long Covid and supports the charity in meetings with the Department for Work and Pensions, including discussions relating to the Timms Review of PIP.
Outside of work, Fleur enjoys spending time with her husband, her two adult sons and her friends. She is also a devoted cat mum and loves gardening and spending time in nature. Fleur is Reiki attuned and has a keen interest in meditation, mindfulness and wellbeing.
