Support services
We run a wide range of support services – from in-person support groups, to a choir, to T’ai Chi Chih! Find out more below.
Facebook support groups
Our International support groups are moderated by volunteers with lived experience of Long Covid and are safe spaces where you can share your concerns, share successes and benefit from learning from each other. The groups are strictly for people who have lived experience of Long Covid and/or their family and people close to them who may be helping support them.
All groups are set up as private Facebook groups.
Membership is moderated to keep members safe, and you will be asked to answer some joining questions when you apply to join.
Posts are approved by moderators so that we ensure that we keep on topic.
All of our activities are shared and publicised through our Facebook groups, to ensure they are safe for members of our community.
In-person peer support groups
We run in-person support groups during 2026 in Chester and Birmingham, thanks to funding from the Cheshire Community Foundation.
The Chester groups take place at the Blacon Enterprise Centre at 10:30am on the second Thursday of the month.
The Birmingham groups take place at Sense Touchbase Pears, Selly Oak at 10:30am on the last Friday of the month.
Head to our IPPS page below to find out more and book your space!
Activities
We support the provision of a range of online social and wellbeing activities. Most of these can be accessed from the 'Events' section of our Facebook groups, although you can subscribe to receive joining details for our Long Covid Choir without needing access to Facebook.
Long Covid Choir
The Long Covid Choir was formed in March 2021 by people with Long Covid to bring some light in the darkness to others living with the debilitating effects of the condition.
Accessible even to those who may be housebound or bedridden, our friendly and informal weekly online sessions (and the all-important chats afterward!) have been good for our hearts, lungs, and souls.
We sing a variety of musical styles. There are no auditions, no singing experience is required, and there is no need to be able to read music. Singing together has brought joy and friendship as we navigate the life-changing experience of Long Covid.
T’ai Chi Chih
Regular T’ai Chi Chih sessions take place in the group on Fridays. Details are in the Events section of the support group.
T’ai Chi Chih is a mindfulness moving meditation that consists of 19 movements and one pose. This practice is soft, flowing and easy to learn. Benefits may include peace of mind, improved health and a feeling of joy.
You can sit, stand or lie down for this session and it really is very relaxing and calming with little movement required. Screens can be off or on dependent on how you feel.
Soundbath
On a monthly basis we have a sound bath and reiki practitioner who leads a sound bath session with a variety of instruments, including Native flute, native frame drum, chimes, rain stick, rattles, Tibetan bowls and crystal singing bowls, as well as recorded meditation and relaxation tracks.
Check-in and chat
Our support group moderators and volunteers host 2 check in and chat sessions every Sunday.
These sessions are chats to catch up with our lovely community. We usually have a nice mix of regular and new faces from diverse countries, and we are a friendly and welcoming bunch. Don't worry how you look or feel - being out of bed or your PJs is optional! Feel free to have your camera off if you prefer.
YouTube channel
In partnership with Dr Binita Kane and Helen Oakleigh, we have presented the YouTube channel ‘Long Covid Clinic: what you CAN do’ for several years. In partnership with expert guests, we explore a range of things that you might find useful if you are living with Long Covid.
