Menstrual/hormonal changes

Some people report changes to their menstrual cycle after Covid-19, and symptom flares that track with hormonal shifts. For some people, recognising these patterns can help with planning, pacing and seeking the right support.

What it can feel like

  • changes in cycle length (shorter or longer cycles)

  • heavier or lighter bleeding

  • more painful periods or new pain

  • spotting or bleeding between periods

  • worsening Long Covid symptoms at specific points in the cycle (for example fatigue, brain fog, migraine, dizziness, palpitations)

  • perimenopause or menopause symptoms changing or worsening

Not everyone experiences these changes, and they can fluctuate over time.
