Temperature dysregulation

Many people with Long Covid report difficulties regulating body temperature. This can overlap with dysautonomia/PoTS, inflammation, hormonal changes, and sleep disruption. For some people it is one of the most noticeable signs that their nervous system is under strain.

What it can feel like

  • hot flushes, sweating, or feeling feverish without a fever

  • chills, shivering, cold hands and feet, or struggling to warm up

  • temperature swings (hot then cold)

  • feeling much worse in heat, after showers, or in crowded rooms

  • symptoms that occur alongside palpitations, dizziness, fatigue, nausea, or headaches
